Yorkshire Terrier

Yorkshire Terrier

The Yorkshire Terrier originated in the mid-19th century in the counties of Yorkshire and Lancashire in England, where miners and mill workers crossed local terriers to control rats in coal pits and industrial sites. It features a small, compact build and a long, silky coat of steel-blue and tan. Originally valued for its fearless nature, endurance, and ability to hunt vermin in tight spaces, today the Yorkshire Terrier is primarily a companion dog—lively, intelligent, and devoted. It requires regular grooming, daily exercise, and consistent yet gentle training.
