Wheaten Terrier

Wheaten Terrier

The Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier originates from Ireland, where as early as the 18th century it was bred on farms to protect property and hunt vermin such as rats and voles. It features a medium-sized, robust build and a silky, wheat-colored coat that sheds minimally and is often better tolerated by allergy sufferers. Valued originally for its endurance, affectionate nature, and adaptability to both work and family life, today’s Wheaten Terrier is a cheerful, intelligent, and friendly companion requiring consistent yet gentle training, regular exercise, and routine grooming to maintain its signature coat.
