Slovak Hound

Slovak Hound

The Slovak Hound, also known as the Slovenský Kopov, originates from Slovakia and was traditionally bred as a tough and persistent scent hound used mainly for hunting wild boar in dense forests and mountainous terrain. Known for its exceptional nose, endurance, and fearless nature, it was valued by hunters for its ability to work independently and tirelessly under demanding conditions. Today, the Slovak Hound remains an energetic, intelligent, and loyal breed with a strong hunting instinct, best suited for active owners who enjoy outdoor activities, can provide consistent training, and understand its need for purpose and regular physical exercise.
