Slovak Cuvac

Slovak Cuvac

The Slovak Cuvac originates from the mountainous regions of Slovakia, where it was traditionally bred as a livestock guardian dog protecting sheep and property from predators such as wolves and bears, relying on its strength, independence, and keen vigilance rather than herding instincts. Its thick white coat helped it blend with flocks and withstand harsh mountain climates. Today, the Slovak Cuvac is a calm, confident, and highly loyal breed with a strong protective instinct toward its family and territory, best suited for experienced owners who can provide space, clear leadership, consistent training, and respect for its independent nature.
