Sealyham Terrier

Sealyham Terrier

The Sealyham Terrier originates from Wales in the late 19th century, developed by Captain John Edwardes for hunting badgers, otters, and other small vermin on his Sealyham estate. It features a low, compact build and a dense, wiry white coat often accented with subtle tan markings. Originally valued for its courage, stamina, and ability to hunt in varied terrain—especially thick undergrowth—today’s Sealyham Terrier is a friendly, calm, and even-tempered companion. It requires consistent yet gentle training, regular exercise, and routine grooming to maintain its breed-characteristic appearance.
