Irish Terrier

The Irish Terrier originates from Ireland, where in the 19th century it was bred to hunt small vermin such as rats and foxes. It is the oldest of the Irish Terriers, distinguished by its striking red coat that is harsh and weather-resistant. Originally valued for its courage, endurance, and tenacity in the field, today the Irish Terrier is an active, intelligent, and devoted companion that requires consistent training, regular exercise, and mental stimulation. Within the family, it is a loyal friend, though its strong prey drive may emerge around small animals.
