Irish Blue Terrier

Irish Blue Terrier

The Irish Blue Terrier was developed in Ireland during the 19th century for vermin control, particularly rats and foxes. Its distinctive blue–gray coat with a dense undercoat is harsh and weather-resistant. Originally bred for its fearless nature, strong hunting instincts, and ability to work through thick underbrush, today’s Irish Blue Terriers are rare and prized for their intelligence, loyalty, and spirited temperament. They require consistent training, ample exercise, and mental stimulation. Devoted family companions, they nonetheless retain a pronounced prey drive toward small animals.
