Hungarian Vizsla

Toto plemeno dostalo pomenovanie vyžla už v roku 1510 a bolo výsledkom kríženia vyhynutého panónskeho psa so žltým tureckým psom. V 50. rokoch 19. storočia bola zaevidovaná krátkosrstá varieta tohto plemena, kým hrubosrstá bola vyšľachtená až v 30. rokoch 20. storočia. Tento elegantný, ušľachtilý a energický pes by pravdepodobne nebol prežil 2. svetovú vojnu, keby ho emigranti neboli zobrali so sebou do exilu. Tak sa rozšíril vo všetkých európskych krajinách, ale predovšetkým v Amerike. Maďarská vyžla sa pôvodne využívala ako stavač a prinášač. Okrem toho je dnes vynikajúcim spoločníkom.
