English Bulldog

English Bulldog

The English Bulldog originated in England and was historically bred for bull-baiting, a brutal sport that required courage, strength, and determination, before being gradually refined into the calm and companion-focused breed we know today. Over time, selective breeding emphasized a gentler temperament while preserving its distinctive muscular build, loose skin, and unmistakable facial expression. Today, the English Bulldog is a loyal, affectionate, and laid-back companion that forms strong bonds with its family, adapts well to apartment living, and prefers a relaxed lifestyle, though it requires careful management in warm weather and attention to health due to its brachycephalic structure.
