Dachshund

Dachshund

The Dachshund originated in Germany as early as the 16th century, bred for hunting badgers, foxes, and other burrowing game. Characterized by its long body, short legs, and coat varieties ranging from smooth to wirehaired, it was prized for its courage, tenacity, and ability to penetrate underground dens. Today’s Dachshund is an intelligent, brave, and affectionate companion requiring consistent yet gentle training, regular exercise, and mental stimulation.
