Border Terrier
The Border Terrier originates from the border regions of England and Scotland, where it was bred in the 19th century to hunt foxes and vermin in narrow earthen burrows. It sports a dense, wiry coat in shades of grizzle-and-tan or blue-and-tan that protects it from harsh terrain. Originally valued for its agility, endurance, and ability to work in confined spaces, today’s Border Terrier is an energetic, friendly, and adaptable family dog requiring regular exercise and mental stimulation. Its versatility makes it well-suited for walks, dog sports, and “earthdog” trials.
