Bedlington Terrier
The Bedlington Terrier hails from the mining town of Bedlington in Northumberland, England, where during the 19th century it was employed to hunt vermin such as otters, rats, and badgers. Its distinctive “lamb-like” outline and soft, curly coat protected it from the elements. Originally valued for its courage, stamina, and ability to work in underground burrows while maintaining a gentle disposition, today’s Bedlington Terrier is an elegant, alert, and devoted companion. It requires consistent yet gentle training, regular exercise, and occasional specialized coat care to preserve its unique texture.
