Australian Terrier

The Australian Terrier was developed in Australia in the late 19th century by crossing British terriers (notably Cairn and Welsh) brought to rural farms for rat and snake control. It features a compact, muscular build and a harsh, weatherproof coat of blue–grey with tan markings. Originally prized for its courageous, tenacious nature and versatility on the farm, today’s Australian Terrier is an energetic, intelligent, and devoted companion requiring regular exercise, consistent yet gentle training, and occasional professional grooming.
